About Saphir Leaf
Saphir is a German hop variety that was first released in 2002. It is a cross between Hallertauer Mittelfrüh and a male hop variety known as Hallertauer Gold. Saphir is primarily known for its distinctive aroma, which is characterized by floral, citrus, and spicy notes. It is often described as having a subtle and refined aroma that is reminiscent of noble hops. Saphir has a moderate alpha acid content, making it suitable for use as a bittering hop, but it is most commonly used as an aroma hop. It is particularly well-suited for use in German-style beers such as Pilsners, Lagers, and Wheat beers, but it can also be used in other styles such as IPAs and Pale Ales. Saphir is a versatile and interesting hop variety that can add a unique character to any beer.
